The Playing Field Management Committee
This committee administers the Sproughton Playing Field Charity, a Charity set up to provide sporting and recreational facilities for the benefit of Sproughton residents. The Management Committee consists of Appointed Trustees and Elected Trustees representative of village organisations, all of whom must be Sproughton residents. The current Chairman is Damian Lavington.
The Parish Council is the Custodian Trustee of the playing field. The Custodian Trustee holds the Trust Deed (which includes the conveyance) but does not itself own the land. The Appointed and Elected Trustees own the playing field on behalf of the charity.
Amongst the clubs that currently use land administered by the Playing Field Management Committee (PFMC) are:
The children's play area has been equipped and managed by the Parish Council. The Parish Council completed a programme of repairs in 2016.
There are also indoor sports organisations in Sproughton, such as Carpet Bowls, Badminton and Short Tennis. These organisations use the Tithe Barn.
